This is what my entryway looked like before.
That is a nice pile of coats of the floor, huh?
Later, a nice man in brown stopped by our house and brought with him visions of mine and J’s coats off the floor!
Jaxon helped make that vision a reality.
Look what happened after a few twists and 12 screws.
There are even little hooks halfway down just right for J’s coats. Now I know you are impressed.
So, I sent J to daycare today in one of his more put-together outfits. A cool white t-shirt, jeans, a fun teal hoodie and black on black converse. I was impressed!
But, being a boy, his body repels a decent outfit. This is what he looked like when I got him home this evening…
He almost never needs to have his clothes changed during the day, but of course this is the one day that he does. And I had just realized this morning when I dropped him off that he only had spare pants at daycare (this whole not picking him up every day thing is throwing me off). So, when he needed a change of clothes today, he had be put in some super UGLY pjs from daycare. So, his super hip outfit from this morning turned him into a baby bum this evening.
Now I know why I usually don’t try…
Have you ever had one of those days where you can’t seem to get full? I am having one of those days now.
I am too ashamed to share what I have eaten in the last 4 hours, but I am pretty sure you would be impressed! I really need to get out for a walk tomorrow to burn some of this off. 🙂
Jaxon and I got a lot done on our first full weekend at the new house. We started the morning off with a little light reading.
I have been totally sucked in by these books, by the way. So fabulously silly!
Later, we had a few phone conversations.
After that we got down to work.
There were dishes that needed to be done.
And sweeping, of course.
After all that hard work, we rewarded ourselves with a very classy meal.
Jaxon especially enjoyed the day I think!
So, I have been meaning to get here, to give an update, but things have been a bit busy. J has been sick (yay double ear infections!) and I have moved out of one house, camped at my parents’ house for the weekend, and then moved into my new house (yesterday)! Woo!
Here is what my new living room looked like right after we got done unloading everything from the truck.
(Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture, but if you think I have any idea where that tiny card reader is to download pictures from my good camera, you are crazy!)
I wish I had an after picture from later that evening because it is amazing how much got done I think! It is practically done!
Edited to add: After picture!!!
Now, I just have to get to IKEA to get some storage furniture for my stuff. I got rid of a good half of everything that was in the house, but there still is stuff (like a HUGE box full of yarn, and another smaller but still large box full of needles and knitting bags!) that has no home for now. The issue with this new house is that there is NO storage. Really. There is a full closest in J’s room (good for all his baby gear like backpack carrier and portable crib) and then I have half a closet in my room (the new furnace is taking up the other half). Other than the kitchen cabinets and a tiny corner cabinet in J’s bathroom, there is no where else to hid my stuff.
I am really sad that I have to go to IKEA and buy fun new stuff. Really. I am. I swear. I hate IKEA. (Just in case the sarcasim isn’t obvious here, none of that last sentence is even close to true.) 🙂
