His name is J, he eats icky things.

April 26, 2009

J’s lunch yesterday:

Any guesses?  Well, it originally was baked chicken and broccoli with rice.  But due to J’s refusal to eat anything that is not sweet, he ate it as baked chicken and broccoli with rice mixed with raspberry yogurt.  Yep.

Need proof that he actually ate it?

He loved the stuff.  I have no excuse for him…

FO: Tea Cosy

April 24, 2009

Pattern: Felted Tea Cosy (Ravel it!)

Yarn:Patons Classic Wool

Needles: US10

Started: April 9

Finished: April 23

We were desparate for a tea cosy at work (folded napkins just don’t cut it) and so I volunteered of course!  I followed the stitch count of the pattern I used, but obviously not the color scheme.  After I finished knitting, it took two wash cycles for it to shrink down to the right size.  It ended up perfect!

We used it today for the first time, and it kept our tea fabulously warm.  Success!

I got gas on March 15th. That was about 150 miles from home. Then I drove home. About two weeks later I drove another 150 miles.  In between those events, and after, I drove back and forth to work and ran errands like usual.  I got gas again for the first time yesterday.

Yes, that’s right.  One month.  $21 in gas.  I am so amused by this.  I had to tell you all.

I think this is due to a few things, including my small car, my goal to bike at least one day a week, and mostly living so close to downtown, to work and to J’s daycare.

Maybe I can make it another month on one tank!

Nothing cuter than a tiny tot in plaid shorts.

I ask that you understand the blurry pictures.  This boy does not stay still.  This is the best I could do…

I gave blood, can you tell?

April 8, 2009

One week ago today, I gave blood.  I got a sticker to prove it.

I also got the bruise to prove it.  Here it is after one week.

Pretty good, huh?  It even has fun lines in it from the bandage wrap.  The most fun part of this is that this is not the arm that I gave blood from.  This is the first arm that they tried, but obviously, it did not work out.  The next arm worked better, after a little digging (and yes, I do mean digging).

I just kept chanting “I am doing a good thing, I am doing a good thing.”  And I will do it again.

My first sweater!  I finally finished it.  And it fits!  Now, if it would just get cold enough here to warrant a thick sweater like this!

Thanks to the grandparents, J got a cool, new toy.

He loves the bell!

But he still loves Jazz too!  🙂
