He refused to nap at daycare yesterday. This is what happened on the ride home…
J and I bike to school/work as much as we can during the summer. It’s lovely. Here’s our ride.
In the morning, when it is a bit chilly, J enjoys getting tucked in.
When we get where we are going, he tends to want to keep his helmet on to look at the sights.
I admit that I am a fair weather rider, and as the weather turns, our ride will start to collect a bit of dust. But while we can, we love it.
And I even managed to get him to NOT eat the berries.
He was eager at first, but quickly lost interest.
I know. Shocking.
He moved from transferring the berries from one bucket to the other to smacking the weeds with a stick. He finally settled on watching this on my iPhone while sitting in the middle of the row. Yes, I am THAT mom. Sue me. I wanted to pick blueberries. We managed to get about 5 pounds, so I definitely think it was worth it.
This is an actual outline of Jaxon. No need to worry, he does have hands and feet in real life and not just the nubs I drew here. I tried hard not to make it look like a toddler death crime scene out in front of my house. Making the whole thing pink did the trick, right?
Jaxon thinks it needs a little something.
And if you are craving more Jaxon video, I also made this one that same morning, but it is long, and mostly boring, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. (Although there are some pretty cute parts I think, but I am fairly partial towards him.)
A few weeks ago J convinced his Auntie and I to play hooky with him on a Monday afternoon and go play. We had a good time!
First, we went to the Children’s Museum, where J went crazy with all the fun.
There was pretending to drive an ambulance (his favorite)
and making tomato soup (tomato flipping action shot!)
and brushing an alligator’s teeth
and composing beautiful music
and enjoying the fun lights
and painting our faces (he didn’t really see the fun in this one).
Even though it was raining when we were done there, we decided to hit the zoo that was next door. We can handle the rain. So in we went, but spent a good deal of our time in the section of the zoo that is hot and humid (it felt so nice). Since the weather was so crappy we pretty much had the place to ourselves. J had a good view of the crocodile.
I highly recommend playing hooky. Fun was had by all!
